Make Media Social for the First Time

⚠️You are NOT going to believe the CIRCUS 🤡that this Augusta schoolboard meeting devolved into. Jennifer Curran berated me UNIMPEDED by Chairwoman Martha "Off With His Head" Witham. Off-topic ranting about podcasters you hate's OK in this lunatic asylum. DOUBLE STANDARD… pic.twitter.com/Wp4t73Z4wx
Media has never been social. And the most toxic and dangerous version of media ever invented is called “social media.”
It came along not more than two decades ago. I never trusted it because I never believed it was truly social. I never, ever trusted it. Especially Facebook. I trust it less today than ever.
That’s why I like to meet in person the accounts I choose to trust. This usually isn’t possible for sources of state, national and international news and opinion. But for local news and opinion it is not only possible. It is now essential given the immense powers of politically motivated intelligence agencies and institutional interests.
There are three individuals who are making an immense contribution to righting the political ship in Maine. I know their names and I’ve met all three of them. Their primary platform is X, though they recently decided to launch on Facebook.
The most public, clever and provocative of the three goes by @Truthslinger on X. His name is Tim Bodnar. It’s been a delight (mostly) to meet and get to know he and his wife. I say “mostly” because sadly he has been forced to pursue a restraining order for civil rights violations by a former employee of mine who I learned only recently also personally attacked my family to bolster his credentials with Left wing political forces back in 2021.
Tim is rewriting, almost single handedly, the playbook for effective use of media in a truly social and politically effective way. His formula is simple. He and his wife are an open book. They literally invite the world into their home every weekday morning on their LIVEstream. And there they talk about scooping up the puppies poop, smoke, swear, preach the gospel and comment on current issues.
But the most effective thing they do is restream school board livestreams with live commentary. I’ve believed for years that every public meeting should be LIVEstreamed. There isn’t one good reason not to do it.
Tim’s commentary is so entertaining he’s drawn an audience of doers in Maine who are gearing up to follow his lead using Tech. And his “Daddy’s Home” vibe has earned him a restraining order from Gardiner school board members offended by his truly social communications with them through their official channels. Let’s just say Tim is no shrinking violet. He’s angry about adults hacking body parts off children and he lets it show.
Nothing wrong with that.
How come you don’t let ‘er rip since you’re all social and stuff on Facebook?
