For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. — 2 Corinthians 7:10
My friend Dr. Michael Spaulding published an excellent column yesterday. It is titled, “How to Topple a Free People.” He mentions the Leftist demon Saul Alinsky who wrote a book called “Rules for Radicals.” Alinsky’s 13th rule is, “’Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.’ Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.”
I can testify to the effectiveness of this tactic. It was used on me in Maine. I’m proud to say that God helped me force them to spend years, and millions of dollars to get the job done … but in the end they got ’er done. Alinsky observed, “people hurt faster than institutions.” He’s right. God is a trinity. He exists in continual fellowship as a three-in-one person. Humans hurt when they become isolated, and when they feel no sympathy with their fellows.
I am just now emerging from the psychological wounds I earned in that two decade long very public battle over sexual morality. It’s been fifteen years since Satan got in his most telling blow. I’ll write more about that week sometime. I think I’ve penned thoughts related to it in the past. You might find something if you poke around on my website, www.michaelheath.org These sort of wounds are best healed by repentance.
The Amplified Bible renders the above verse from 2 Corinthians, “For [godly] sorrow that is in accord with the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation; but worldly sorrow [the hopeless sorrow of those who do not believe] produces death.” As we all wrestle with the “deplorable” status that is being forced on us by the Left wing of religion and politics it is helpful to find salvation in Godly sorrow. It is God’s will that we repent of the part we played in bringing our nation to this position of profound moral weakness.
While we receive God’s guidance through His Holy Spirit we fight for righteousness. The Godly sorrow gives us strength.
Christian repentance brings salvation while the hopeless sorrow of those who don’t believe “produces death.” Mayor Pete Buttwhatever produces death in every way because he has no interest in the Godly sorrow mentioned above. He’s only interested in feeling worldly sorrow, and in manipulating the emotions of the mob by channeling that worldly sorrow.
We’re supposed to feel sorrow for him because he’s a homosexual.
I don’t. I pray for him to seek Godly … instead of worldly … sorrow.
And if he chooses not to then I think Christians have a duty to “’Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.’ Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.”
