I deeply appreciate Bill Whatcott.  He is a Canadian political activist and Christian.  He’s written an autobiography that I mentioned previously.  He just published a very helpful speech he recently delivered at a political event.  I’ve reprinted here.  I don’t think he would mind.  But here is the link to his version of it, along with images and a video of him delivering it.

Grace mercy and peace in the name of God the Father, through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

I am privileged to be invited today to speak on the state of religious and political liberty in Canada. I wish my message could be a happy one, but the truth is I have real concerns in regards to the direction this country and indeed the western world as a whole is taking.

On Wednesday, March 14, 2018, I received a notice from the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal that my motion to dismiss a so-called human rights complaint against me by a transvestite who calls himself Morgane Oger was denied. Morgane is a French female name chosen by a man whose birth name is Ronan after he decided to go public with his cross dressing and apparent belief that he is a woman. Because the complainant is a biological male and unable to switch his gender, I choose to refer to him by the name that was given to him at birth, Ronan.

Ronan Oger ran for the British Columbia NDP in the last election. When it became apparent that he might actually succeed in taking the Vancouver-False Creek riding and that his curriculum vitae amounted to pushing transvestitism in British Columbia’s schools and in the province’s human rights code, I distributed 1000 flyers telling voters their NDP candidate was a biological male, that God did not want them to vote for the NDP, and the concept that undergoing cosmetic surgery, taking hormones and cross dressing can actually change one’s sex is a lie. My flyer also shared a testimony from an ex-transgender by the name of Walt Heyer who came to Christ and reclaimed his manhood and offered the good news that those trapped in the LGBT lifestyle can repent and find forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

No matter how I look at my election flyer, I just don’t see how it could amount to so-called “hate speech” or how one could be prosecuted for distributing it during an election or at any other time in the alleged democracy that is called Canada. But we are at that place now.

It is an abomination that a man is able to run for a political office as a fake woman and then use the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal to bully and punish people who are unwilling to affirm his gender delusion.

Anyways, I do not believe this strange state of affairs where a transvestite with serious totalitarian tendencies is able to lose an election, become the Vice President of the ruling BC NDP anyways, and commandeer the BC Human Rights Tribunal and the major media to demonize and punish his political opponents has happened in a vacuum. The origins of this totalitarian imposition of falsehood can be found in Sacred Scripture and its current ideological manifestation can be seen in our institutions and numerous examples of recent injustices in Canadian society.

The author of confusion and lies is Satan. When Jesus confronted the Jews who were opposing Him, He said: “You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies”
John 8:44.

Satan is the father of lies and I believe as Christians we have to understand the attack on the truth of our God given and unchangeable male and female gender identity emanates from the father of lies. The fact is Satan hates God, he also hates the people of God and indeed he hates humanity in general. The push of cultural Marxism in western society and its accompanying push for sexual deviancy and gender confusion is profoundly spiritual, even if many of the proponents of this dishonest and hateful ideology are atheist and fail to see it.

The modern etiology of our current state of confusion and demoralization in the face of a stifling political correctness can be traced to a group of mostly Jewish academics in Germany who during the 1920s worked at a neo-Marxist think tank known as the Institute for Social Research, AKA the Frankfurt School.
These academics recognized the communist world was not strong enough to defeat the free world through military force so they developed a philosophy known as Critical Theory and unleashed it on the free west’s schools and university campuses, as well as on our entertainment and media. Today we can see the effects of the Frankfurt School’s toxic ideology in our movies, music, school curriculums, our courts, government bureaucracies and even in the workplaces of many of our large private corporations.

The goal of Critical Theory is to relentlessly attack the west’s Christian faith and values. Critical Theory also seeks to undermine the dominant traditional heterosexual family structure and white European Christian identity that was until recently prevalent in Canada and provided our nation with a certain degree of unity and moral stability. Willi Munzenburg, one of the Frankfurt School’s original academics, and a gifted communist propagandist aptly stated the plan when articulating the goal of Critical Theory. He said, “we will make the West so corrupt that it stinks.”

We can see the fruits of Critical Theory in many facets of Canadian society today. To “make the west stink” the Frankfurt school relentlessly pushed such ideas as the legalization of drugs, the efficacy of promiscuity, pornography, homosexuality, rebellion against traditional authority, rejection of Christianity, massive immigration from nations with non-Christian cultures, rejection of masculinity and the rejection of traditional male and female gender roles, etc….

The practical outworking of the effects of Critical Theory on millions of North America’s young minds can be discerned by examining the sexual revolution of the 1960s. It was no mistake that the man known as the father of the New Left, Herbert Marcuse (who is also the best known academic within the Frankfurt School) coined the phrase “make love and not war.” The philosophy of Critical Theory was the premise that informed this simple, catchy, and seemingly innocuous phrase. This phrase and the sexually libertine, neo-Marxist, philosophy behind it simultaneously sapped America of its will to use armed force to oppose communism in South East Asia and unleashed almost overnight the rejection of sexual restraint by young people throughout the western world.

Interestingly, while Marcuse and his fellow Marxist travellers in the Frankfurt school preached liberation through the rejection of marriage, the rejection of the Protestant work ethic, rejection of sexual restraint, and the pursuit of pleasure through consuming drugs, sex, gambling or any other vice that might tickle one’s fancy; they also paradoxically preached a form of repression that was falsely marketed as “liberation.” The same Marcuse, who coined the catchy phrase “make love and not war” and who wrote volumes on the need to reject such “oppressive” institutions as marriage, Christian churches, democratically elected governments operating on free market principles, etc… also wrote, “Liberating tolerance, then, would mean intolerance against movements from the Right and toleration of movements from the Left.”

While Marcuse and his fellow Marxists wanted free speech for themselves to promote homosexuality, pansexuality, drug use, pornography and any other vice that would lead to our society’s decay, they would not countenance free speech or tolerance for those who oppose their destructive ideological agenda.

So, to come full circle with` my personal story, it is no surprise Ronan Oger could run in a provincial election as a transvestite activist, demand unlimited air time to push the notion that he is born a woman and write copious tweets demanding that children have LGBT propaganda pushed on them from an early age regardless of health risks or parental concerns, and at the same time seek to punish, fine, and even imprison, those who dare to publicly exercise their free speech to disagree with his narcissistic fantasy. It is also no mistake that the BC Human Rights Tribunal and media are largely sympathetic towards this man’s goal to silence all those who oppose his agenda to force society to embrace his false notion that boys can be girls and girls can be boys. Even though Ronan Oger is the Vice President of the BC NDP, it is possible he knows little or nothing about Critical Theory or its origins coming from the Frankfurt School; yet the speeches, behaviour, and advocacy championed by Mr. Oger literally emanates from the neo Marxist founders of Critical Theory nearly a century ago.

Sadly, for the west, while we were vigilantly guarding against the threat of Soviet tanks and missiles, we left our institutions completely unguarded from infiltration within. We were asleep as a Marxist inspired cultural revolution quietly swept through our entertainment industry, government, courts, education system and now much of our society. We are late into this takeover and as evidenced by the media’s and establishment’s vicious attacks on socially conservative politicians, such as Stockwell Day, Russ Kuykendall, and Rob Ford; the other side having consolidated power in most of our government, media and many private corporations is not asleep and they have no qualms with using of dirty tricks and state coercion to keep conservative Christians and others who believe in faith, family and true freedom from attaining positions of power and influence ever again.

Reversing Canada’s slide into moral decay and neo-Marxist, politically correct, tyranny is not going to be easy. But I know the first step is to identify and know your enemy. Unlike the Soviet tanks of old the cultural Marxists in the west have not really made themselves clearly identifiable. Of course, they can be discerned if one stops and takes a hard look. It is not a mistake that every major media organization in Canada is favourable towards culturally Marxist ideas such as open borders, promoting homosexuality in schools, transgenderism, ending the criminalization of drug abuse in favour of state funded injection sites, abortion on demand, gun control, race baiting by falsely portraying only whites as racist and privileged, etc….

To give a concrete example to help you understand how homogenous and culturally Marxist our media is I will take you back to a national scandal that never quite exploded in the news, even though all of the major media outlets were aware of it. It was not a mere coincidence in the spring of 2002 all of the major media outlets in Canada from coast to coast went into overdrive covering up for the former Liberal Foreign Affairs Minister Bill Graham’s illegal homosexual relationship with an under aged boy. Rather than report the news when the so-called affair became public through an interview given by the victim to a Toronto based homosexual publication called Fab, the national media instead attacked the Conservative MP Cheryl Gallant who dared to mention the crime in Parliament.

For those of you who are news junkies with long memories, do you remember in the spring of 2002 how the media went into a disingenuous hysteria about the Pembrooke Conservative MP Cheryl Gallant’s so-called homophobic slur? Her “slur” was a sarcastic question in the Parliament directed to the Liberal Foreign Affairs Minister at the time Bill Graham, “ask your boyfriend.” That was literally all she said. Interestingly every media outlet from coast to coast in Canada, Global, CTV, CBC, to the allegedly conservative outlets such as the National Post and Toronto Sun, covered the story and all of them spun their coverage so that Cheryl Gallant appeared to have said a bad, homophobic thing. Interestingly, not a single media outlet except Lifesite News (Canada’s pro-life news source) and a few conservative blogs revealed what all the media outlets knew but suppressed; the “boyfriend” in question was a 15 year old male prostitute named Lawrence Metherel. The culturally Marxist media knew if they revealed that information to the public, a powerful Liberal Cabinet Minister’s career would be over and a serious blow to homosexual rights in Canada would be delivered. It was no mistake that all of the major newsrooms in our country decided protecting a left-wing, bisexual, Liberal was more important than accurately reporting the news. Our national media outlets were homogenous in covering up a crime committed by a bisexual Liberal cabinet minister and they are homogenous in their hostility towards prominent socially conservative politicians today.

It is also not a coincidence every single publicly funded university in Canada is biased in favour of socialism, and once again is generally supportive of speech favourable to the culture of death, abortion, euthanasia, homosexuality, so-called transgenderism, etc… and generally censorious towards conservative speech, such as defending life from conception to natural death, the belief in God, speech favourable to the traditional family, etc…

For real freedom to be restored we have to either free from the grips of the cultural Marxists or bypass and render ineffective our institutions such as the media, academia and courts. How that can be done, apart from the grace of God I am not sure. Traditional Canadians were asleep when our institutions were taken over, the other side is extremely vigilant. It is no mistake that conservatives and conservative Christians in particular are almost completely absent from the decision making positions within the media, virtually absent from Canada’s academia, and absent from our courts.

While I have no easy solution to the culturally Marxist takeover of our institutions, I do have some advice for Canada’s believers. Namely that we can’t expect fairness in this world or from the leftists who now rule us and we may have to develop more of a tolerance for suffering and enduring injustice and discrimination than we had to endure in times not so long ago. Jesus said: “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life.” Mark 10:29, 30

The author of Hebrews (probably St. Paul) wrote about the lot of Christians who endure patiently to the end: “Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented— of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth. And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise, God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us,” Hebrews 11:36-40.

We have to wake up to the reality that times have changed in Canada. The freedom of conscience, speech and religion that was taken for granted less than a generation ago is now replaced with the culturally Marxist concept of “tolerance for left wing ideas and intolerance for conservative ideas.” I don’t believe that we should cave to the psychological warfare being waged on us and in the face of career discrimination, lawsuits, human rights complaints and in some cases in Canada already criminal charges, I believe we should continue to let our witness be known as God is still calling us to be lights for this world. Our Lord and Saviour said:

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” And Our Lord also said… “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:10-16

If we cower out of fear of political correctness, we will lose the blessing that comes with being persecuted for righteousness sake and indeed we will fail in fulfilling God’s calling to be salt and light in our world.

Our Lord has warned us that we will face persecution for our faith and belief in right and wrong. He also foretold that not all Christians will endure, in fact in a parable He describes Christians who fail to endure as shallow, as having no depth in their character and lacking faith. “for what was sown on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy, yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately he falls away” Matthew 13:20, 21

Speaking from experience, losing one’s career because of one’s faith and belief in right and wrong can indeed hurt. Being dragged before the courts and failing to get justice, or even worse yet experiencing activist judges ignoring their own laws and perpetrating gross injustice in favour of their own immoral agendas can leave one feeling angry, perhaps even bitter. When suffering we must resist the temptation to feel unduly sorry for ourselves and we must resist the temptation to hate or harbour unGodly resentment towards those who persecute us.

Jesus in addition to warning those of us who follow Him that we will face persecution, and in addition to calling on us to endure to the end, also gave us a radical command as to how we should respond to our persecutors. Our Lord told us to, “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” Matthew 5:44.

I’ve been tempted to hate my enemies and to harbour resentment towards those who hurt me, both non-Christians and Christians. In the end I have found praying for my enemies and asking God to touch them in ways they need to be touched has made me a happier and less bitter person. It is also possible those prayers will move in the realm of the unseen. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if your prayer played a role in a bitter, angry, atheist coming to Christ, even if that atheist was responsible for maliciously getting you fired from your job or is one who filed a human rights lawsuit against you? Remember, when an atheist comes to Christ, they are not only rescued from hell, their world view changes and they often become zealous ambassadors for Christ and fellow culture warriors.

I have made it my practice to pray for abortionists who called the police on me and lied to get me thrown in jail. I also to this day occasionally pray for judges whose corrupt judgments against me for non-violently speaking out against the abortion holocaust and homosexual agenda have gotten me thrown in jail and made me liable for tens of thousands of dollars in fines and court costs. For years I have made it a point to pray for a bitterly anti-Christian man who I once showed grace to by dropping a human rights complaint against him when he denied me service in his computer shop because I am a Christian who disagreed with the homosexual agenda. The guy admitted his guilt and was potentially on the hook for thousands of dollars because of his violation of the Saskatchewan Human Rights code. In the end I didn’t want to violate this man’s property rights or take his money, so in mediation I offered to drop the complaint and buy him a beer. A month later the same guy and some of his pro-homosexual buddies paid me back by launching a boycott campaign against my cleaning business and being that my business was a small town one, where even the town’s conservatives were afraid of the “anti-gay” label, the man successfully ruined some of my largest contracts and forced me into bankruptcy. Those losses were big and they were bitter. To this day I still don’t wish the guy ill and I sincerely hope and pray that he repents and finds Christ.

Looking at some of this guy’s social media behaviours from time to time since then, I actually believe I am a happier and more fulfilled person than he is. More importantly, when I die I know where I am going; that poor soul who destroyed my business, for all his pride and vitriol towards Christians has no idea where he is going when he dies. The guy was also useful in teaching me to not worship things or financial security. Both can disappear from unforeseen events rather easily.
If that bitter and nasty atheist was to call me tonight and ask for a get together to discuss what happened between us years or ago or even better yet to ask for help to repent and come to Christ, I would happily get together with him and maybe even pay for a beer, even though what he did was mean, vindictive, and completely wrong.

While I believe in forgiveness and extending grace to our persecutors, I don’t believe Christ calls on us to give a license to our persecutors for what they do. I recognize what the guy did was wrong by any normal definition. I also recognize those who promote the sexualizing children and who promote the killing of children not yet born are completely wrong. In fact, what they are doing is evil and their agenda is resulting in widespread death, and unnecessary suffering. Our nation as a whole is suffering because of the cheapening of human life, the debasement of our God given sexuality and indeed without repentance, our nation is bringing the judgement of God on it. St. Paul has exhorted us to “expose the unfruitful works of darkness.” In Canada right now I would suggest we find our voices and do it loudly, even if these nasty leftists and atheists get offended and don’t like hearing from us.

We are called to boldly rebuke those who hate God, who promote evil, and who unjustly persecute those who follow Christ. If I run in an election again and somehow defy the odds and win (the last time I ran for office I managed on capturing 1.6% of the vote), I promise you I remain committed to jailing abortionists, closing down so-called “gay” bathhouses, and limiting culturally Marxist influences wherever I can. If there is a bigoted, hard left, CBC reporter in this room right now; I will let you know, I don’t hate you personally, even though I had to successfully sue your corporation for libel in 2011.

For those of who don’t know, Canada’s poor excuse for a public broadcaster falsely insinuated I supported the mass murder of homosexuals on their flagship National program, during my hearing before the Supreme Court of Canada on the legality of my anti-sodomy flyers.

While I don’t hate you Mr. CBC reporter, I do believe the so-called mothercorp has to be defunded and you need to go to the private sector to either be a real journalist or at least a left-wing sock puppet on someone else’s dime rather than the taxpayer’s dime.

I believe this is the proper approach for Christians to take. Fight to win and be willing to remove people on the other side if we have to, to take our country back. While we should not hate leftists, those on the left do not deserve molly coddling either. The executives at CBC would have no problem terminating a Christian employee from their job if the employee in question made a polite but politically incorrect tweet about same sex marriage or transgenderism. CBC wouldn’t care if the Christian employee’s family was hurt by the job loss. Cultural Marxists are only tolerant of left wing views and hurting those who they disagree with is fine by them. We are called to be courageous in the face of persecution, to fight hard, and fight to win when we find ourselves in battle. However, hating our enemies and desiring to hurt them is not the answer.

In closing, can we take our country and its institutions back on our own strength? I doubt it. Our Lord has said “the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light.” Time and again, I have seen the other side outmaneuver us on every front, whether it’s their legislative agenda, the organizing of their activists, PR campaigns to sell their lies, to taking over the key bureaucracies, schools, courts and private sector organizations needed to push their agenda and silence their detractors. While a small number of Christians have put up a valiant struggle at great personal cost; in terms of tactics, courage and longevity, we have mostly been ineffective and anemic.

However, I have good news for you. St. Paul became the greatest force for spiritual and social change in the Roman world and is considered by most Biblical scholars to be the greatest missionary of all time. Yet, St. Paul admitted he couldn’t do it on his own. Late into his ministry St. Paul, the greatest missionary the world has ever known wrote to the Corinthian church that he asked for deliverance from an affliction that was holding him back and Christ told the missionary whose preaching caused riots, mass conversions, and even shook the Roman empire: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9.

St. Paul showed humility when his deliverance was not granted and with a good attitude wrote: “Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9:10

I don’t believe we should cower, shut up, or quit being a force for good in the public square. Christians are not of the world, but we are in it and God calls us to be salt and light. At the same time however, we have to recognize that apart from Christ we can do nothing. Hence before doing battle we need to be on our knees and confess our dependence on Him. With God’s grace we can endure the persecutions and losses of friends and worldly things.

The fact of the matter is if you speak Biblically, honestly, and courageously enough, you might find yourself out of a job, in jail, or dragged before a human rights tribunal in Canada nowadays. However, if you love God a little more and your worldly comfort zone a little less you might also be surprised at what God can do through you. Canada needs you in this late hour. Rise up Christian soldiers and speak the truth courageously and unambiguously in love.

Finally, I would like to share a closing Scripture for you to reflect on. May this Scripture help you see your complete lack of strength, wisdom. and character to win this culture war on your own. May this Word also help you to see where your sufficiency lies and when you see from where your strength comes from may you not only pray with faith but also stand publicly and work with a zeal and courage that can only come from knowing the sufficiency and power of your God.

“For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:6-8
