Modern Chains

The modern plantation endures not by brute force, but through deception: its captives no longer see their chains, or worse, they embrace them as freedom. As Frederick Douglass warned, the greatest obstacle to liberty is not oppression, but the ignorance that blinds the oppressed to their subjugation. 43 Before we can break free, we must acknowledge the problem. Our generation’s task is not merely to name economic slavery but to confront it with moral clarity and unyielding resolve: to reject the system that devours our work, drains our time, and degrades our dignity.
