This word “Algocracy” is accurate.  If you expose yourself to any type of screen you are the target of the algorithm.  The most vulnerable are the folks who trust the television.  And they are the least surveilled, ironically.

Movies and television media serve up the dregs of our culture.  The rest of us trust our feeds, which represent the most expensive and sophisticated form of social engineering ever created.

Enough truth gets through the feed to suggest that this use of a screen is better than sitting passively in front of a television.  Also, if you are scrolling then most likely you are also benefitting from a sort of human contact using text, email, phone calls and chat.  These more personal forms of contact are, of course, now being absorbed into the algocracy and weaponized to deepen your enslavement.
