While health is an important element of community life, it is not the supreme value. Neither is it an absolute right that overrides the moral good or a nation’s very existence and future. — From the article “Warning! A Virus Threatens America’s Future and Christian Civilization”
Trumpian Sledge Hammer
In the Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church we read, “To ensure the common good, the government of each country has the specific duty to harmonize the different sectoral interests with the requirements of justice. The proper reconciling of the particular goods of groups and those of individuals is, in fact, one of the most delicate tasks of public authority.”
We aren’t living through a delicate period in human history. Our brutal culture is booming, rapping and Trumping it’s way into oblivion. The political and cultural Left has nearly half of us convinced their Marxist utopia is right around the corner. They’ve spent nearly two centuries, hundreds of millions of lives and gazillions of dollars trying to convince humanity they are Right because they want to be the only one’s Left.
Humanity’s exhaustion is causing many to rally around strong, loyal patriotic men like Victor Orban in Hungary, Vladimir Putin in Russia, Matteo Salvini in Italy and Donald Trump in America. In my home state of Maine an angry and ugly old baby killing feminist, Janet Kills, is setting things up for a return to the forceful old Frenchman from Lewiston, Paul LePage. He taught Donald Trump how to turn verbal gaffes into political strengths. Injecting disinfectant is from a page out of the Paul LePage rhetorical playbook.
I’m grateful for social, cultural and moral inertia. Inertia is defined, “A property of matter by which it continues in its existing state of rest or uniform motion in a straight line, unless that state is changed by an external force.” I sense that there is a global inertia flowing beneath the deafening political roar that is ringing in our ears right now. It is religious. It is moral. It is human. It senses what is good, true and beautiful. It is thinking, talking, loving, fighting, creating and moving.
I do long for a bit more delicacy from Donald Trump. Two hours every night is a bit much. The inertia of the Christian West is flowing. He can go with the flow a little more.
We need justice more than anything else right now. Because the Communist Chinese, the CIA and the media lost control of the narrative when the internet finally got up and running all institutional leadership in the West must win back the people’s trust. They are not going to be able to do it with any kind of censorship. The proper reconciling of the particular goods of groups and individuals can only be accomplished now by transparent leadership. The delicate task of managing public authority will include heads rolling.
For example, the United States government MUST come clean on 9-11. Their explanation of why building 7 collapsed no longer passes the straight face test. Thanks to the patient and determined work of over two thousand architects and engineers the facts prove that the United States government lied about what brought down those buildings. For trust to be restored in our government we need to know what happened that day. We also need the truth about Epstein and the CCP Virus.
The rising Green authoritarianism of the Left is off the rails now. It is careening into oblivion as it pretends that it can force abortion, sodomy, global vaccination and economic collapse without regard for natural and civil rights.
A most precious natural individual right, not granted by government, is to know and love and serve God. The governments of the world have been granted temporary authority based on an overhyped threat to human health. Religious institutions will rebound as the world’s governments return to reason for their permanent authority. The lessons learned from this CCP virus over-reaction will be good for the world. Nations will emerge sovereign, with a renewed interest in their own well being in place of dancing to the Leftist population controlling Marxist tune played by the pied pipers Pope Francis, Jeffery Sacks, Bill Gates and George Soros.
The article cited above concludes:
In the present emergency, we must raise our eyes to the supernatural plane and consider events from a higher and more long-range perspective.
Throughout history, peoples considered plagues as divine warnings or punishments.
It would be absurd to imagine that God, almighty and all-knowing, is unaware of this pandemic or that He cannot change the course of events radically.
In His infinite wisdom, God has allowed secondary causes to trigger this coronavirus scourge. It is not unreasonable to ask if His mysterious intention was not to correct our sins and vices, like a good Father, who wants to spare his children from eternal damnation.
On the Cross, Our Lord uttered that piercing cry: “My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?” (Matt. 27:46). The Savior bore the burden of our sins for our redemption. He was innocent. We are not. Like the Good Thief, we deserve this chastisement. There is much for which we must beg forgiveness.
Over the last few decades, how many changes opposed to Divine and natural law have become accepted in society. How many public blasphemies! More than sixty million innocent Americans were killed through abortion. Same-sex “marriage” was legalized! There are Drag Queen Story Hours for children and transgender bathrooms!
Repent, my friend.
Repent!
Amen.
