The above quote is from a Note published recently on NOSTR, a relatively new publishing protocol on the internet.  NOSTR is an acronym that is short for “Notes and Other Stuff Thru Relays.”  The NOSTR account that posted the note is called Flash.  He continues:

I discovered NOSTR through the work of another user who recently authored a book making the philosophical case for Bitcoin as global currency.  His name is Neal Flesher.

The great British journalist GK Chesterton is often cited observing, “A dead thing can go with the stream, but only a living thing can go against it.”  The computer, and then the internet, made me feel alive.  Maybe that’s why my soul is so attached to the idea that this technology must secure human dignity and create what is good, true and beautiful.

Over the years I’ve watched the internet fall under the spell of greedy and prideful forces.  This is nowhere more obvious than on social networking platforms.  And I’ve watched all my real world friends turn into Facebook “friends.”  Their minds and souls are occupied by a culture manipulated to kill their souls … to make them into consumers of the latest thing — be it an object or an idea.

Dead people scroll their stream. 

Living people go against it.

Hear the opinion of a Tech futurist, former employee of Google.  It’s interesting.  He hints that he’s not a fan of borders and favors free trade.  In past videos he’s offered advice on using a screen to make a million bucks.  He’s much better informed on current economics than am I.  I’m very self consciously not a money guy choosing to simply take Jesus at his word — money is the root of all evil.

America’s economy is collapsing because we’ve loved the dollar more than life (think abortion) itself.  Every successful nation builds economic power.  They don’t hoard metals or weaponize their currency.  And they don’t create a banking system built on debt/usury.

This YouTuber is right about America collapsing into poverty.  I see that as inevitable.  He thinks in twenty year chunks of time when discussing the future for America.  If we survive what’s coming as a nation I suspect that is optimistic.  I hope and pray it only takes twenty years to get back on our feet.

Time, and God’s Grace, will tell.

This British economist makes a compelling argument in this video that Trump’s grand plan is to secure ultimate global power for the TechBros.  It makes sense of the chaos we are all feeling.

He reminds Americans of the last time the government was forced to confront monopoly power.  One man is credited with standing up to that power.  Theodore Roosevelt, the President who earned the title “Trust Buster.”  Back then it was oil, steel and transportation that were coming under the control of monopolists.

This economist points out that data — especially the detailed, private and personal kind the government has the power to collect — is today’s oil.  Musk has the portable hard drives.  Trump has the power of the pardon if the Left’s push back goes too far and gets some of Musk’s geeks tied up in criminal trials over stealing our data.

Biden’s liberalism, while unhinged from nature and reality on nearly all things cultural, has demonstrated a weak willingness to confront Big Tech.  At least more of a willingness than the “pro business” Republicans.  Neither right nor left in America is truly pro business.  To be so would be to put the government on the side of protecting the essential economic principle — labor is the source of all value. 

Nobody ever becomes truly rich by hoarding any kind of money.  Nations and individuals become rich by creating, and maintaining, economic power.  This cannot be done if institutions choose to ignore the moral law.

America as I knew it growing up will never exist again.  That hegemonic post WWII system, is dead and buried.

Christianity still delivers the most potent religious influence to the nation.  The only question of consequence we face at the moment is will America go full French and/or Soviet revolution and eliminate Christianity in favor of satanism or will Christianity maintain and strengthen her cultural influence.

As I like to tell my wife almost everyday now, “Time will tell.”

This video made me want to turn it all off and find a way to live the rest of my life without an internet connection.  I’m trying to convince myself that Trump/Musk represents a shift toward something more human.  That’s silly, of course, because both leaders are baked into the Tech/Science Utopia worldview.

I’ll just keep writing my narrative here on my blog.  I’m still able to post honestly on X, even though I get absolutely no growth in followers (obviously shadowbanned).

God’s grace is all that’s left for me as a source of hope.

This video illustrates something I faced as I wrapped up my career in institutional public life a couple decades ago.  In the closing years of that career I employed an expert ghost writer.  He made it possible by basically providing his services for free.  The awareness and information in his narrative exceeded my own.

I remember one particular media interview that was based on his writing.  While I read everything he wrote before it was published I didn’t always fully understand the concepts.  This led to me bungling this one particular interview. 

He also successfully pursued a strategy that unearthed an image of Maine’s governor with the infamous Communist, Fidel Castro.  While I was ill prepared to talk “communism” on a global stage I mostly managed to avoid “stepping in it” while that played itself out in the media.

I see Tucker Carlson making a similar mistake in this interview of Sam Bankman Fried.  Tucker has gone from being a talking head on FoxNews to being the CEO of one of the world’s most influential alternative media platforms.  That’s no excuse for his mistake here.  It’s just my guess as to what’s going on.

This podcast begins with an insightful review of GAB CEO Andrew Torba’s new book.  Torba argues for the creation of a “parallel polis.”  He believes that America will continue on with the current “liberal” order and an alternative, or “parallel” order, that will be built by a variety of churches.

I have deep personal, and professional, experience with this idea in Maine.  It not only did NOT work for me, it created enormous confusion for myself and everyone I love.

Professor Jones points out that the Church was created by Jesus Christ.  He allows that it is also maintained by Him to this day.  And that you can visit the headquarters of the Church Jesus created.  It is St. Peter’s Basilica.  It is located in Rome.  This is reality.

Arriving at this conclusion introduced deep peace into my daily existence as a Christian in Maine.  After extensive prayer, research and reading I concluded I must decide between two headquarter cities if I wanted to remain Western (I considered Eastern Orthodoxy also).  Those two cities are Rome and Washington DC.  Since the end of WWII DC has served as the HQ of Protestantism.  Before that it was probably London going back to King Henry VIII, at least for the part of the world that spoke English.

Religions express in culture the most crucial sort of unity for humans.  No religion can survive by making every single adherent into an ultimate moral authority — a priest.  Protestantism does just that.  The doctrine is called the “Priesthood of all Believers.”

The evidence of the impracticality of this religious practice is all around us.  Some American Christians have elevated Donald Trump above the office of Priest, maybe even Pope.  Christian Zionists, nearly all of them Protestant, are so incapable of rational observation with respect to their “savior” that a majority of them cannot see the evil inherent in the recently circulated short video depicting Trump as a hundred foot high golden statue in the heart of a glorified luxury resort built on the remains of tens of thousands of murdered Gazan women and children.  The video hearkens back to another arrogant leader from Old Testament times, Nebuchadnezzar.  He was judged harshly by God, forced to live for years as an animal.

Turning to the effect of this doctrine on my spirituality, I took my priestly responsibility so seriously that I registered my own “church” with the State of Maine.  The constitution allows for it.  Anyone can create an organization called a “Religious Society.”  I felt a duty to do so because I believe in government.  I honor the God-given duties of governments everywhere.

What led me to this action?

I publicly declared my agreement with the morals of Jesus Christ for twenty years as leader of the Christian Civic League of Maine.  i was forced to resign as Maine turned toward the elimination of civil marriage after adding the politically loaded phrase “sexual orientation” to the Maine Human Rights Act.  I couldn’t pivot without distancing myself from the Gospel.  The League pivoted.  I couldn’t.

And now Maine is insanely embroiled internationally in a fight over whether boys who claim they are girls should be allowed to compete in sports.

I was right not to distance myself from the Gospel on the subject of human sexuality.  I was wrong to think that God wanted me to create a Religious Society for that purpose.  It takes a bad case of hubris to come to that conclusion.  I had a really bad case.

Easter of 2020 I laid aside my pride and entered the Roman Catholic Church.  The Father, Son and Holy Spirit have been deepening their ministry to my soul ever since.  I am more dedicated to my Christian faith than ever, and more relaxed about it.

Torba’s Parallel Polis idea may bear some good fruit.  Who knows.  Only God knows the future.  And He is always going someplace good.

As for me I will keep looking for ways to encourage American unity by way of practicing my Christian faith strengthened by the sacraments of the Church.

I am nearly half way through this tome as I write this blog post.  I’m loving every minute reading it.  I prefer the price of ebooks over paper books having been a poor guy my whole life.  My son was kind enough to purchase this book, and Libido Dominandi for me as Christmas presents last year.

The following two videos make me feel better about not becoming a millionaire.  I could have, you know.  I remember when Bitcoin was available for pennies.  Had I decided to devote some hours to learning about a digital wallet and exchanges I could have turned that penny into a literal one hundred thousand dollars — for just one Bitcoin!  I don’t feel bad about missing out.  I take Jesus Christ at His word.  He observed that you can’t love both God and money.  And it’s beginning to look like Bitcoin might be worse than real money.  It might be pretend money.  We’ll see. 

Or, as I like to say to my wife these days, “Time will tell.”

Stealing from poor people.  That’s what they all have in common.  In the past month all three “leaders” launched Memecoins for the purpose of stealing money from their supporters.  Don’t believe me?  Watch the video.

Lust and greed are baked into the fundamentals of English Capitalism.  This economic system is collapsing just like communism collapsed in the Eastern European power that brackets America in the West — Russia.  Western capitalism and communism are two sides of the same anti-religious coin.  The religious phoenix rising from the ashes of the collapse of these ideologies in the West is Christianity.

Jesus said, “I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33
